ROCK
I am a rock
I decided I'd be an island
Pride, I endeavor
Self pride - I implore
Water it trickles
Through the foundation
As it nourishes my mind
With tranquility
Self confidence in my nature
I strive for perfectionism
Beauty is the realism
That I gain as a rock
Now I see
This beautiful me
Self love
Me! You get to know
And each word I write
The feelings sometimes show
I stand alone
And my rock turns to fossil
Aging I still perfect
My feelings I try to protect
But most of all
I dance in life like the leaves
Off the trees in the wind
And two step my way
Into the waterfall
Like a splash
My island floods
And then I am washed away
But the rock still stands
And I never fall.
